About the Author

My name is Jason Smith. I am a software enthusiast focused on sustainable systems. I’ve been a software engineer for seven years and have ample opportunity to see, and live with, apps inheriting 20+ years of decay. I’ve also had the opportunity to create apps from the ground up that have been designed to thrive in the face of pressure. I’ve seen the difference. Those apps created with entropy in mind became the apps where changes were intuitive to make. Scalability, maintainability, and readability all emerged as side effects of the architecture.

Aside from software development, I also enjoy tinkering with random diy electronic projects (keyboards, macropads, etc), 3d printing, and woodworking.
